SAAAL / APWU To Picket The membership at the April General Membership Meeting voted unanimously to picket the Cedar Elm Station on Friday, May 9, 2008.
This is not only a violation of our Collective Bargaining Agreement but is promoting a hostile work environment and a decrease in customer service. The membership at the GMM also mandated all officers and stewards to attend the picket in a show of support and solidarity. Participate in the picket and show management, and the public, that this type of management action will not be tolerated and that it leads to a disgruntled workforce and a decline in customer service. The main reasons for the picket is to inform the public that USPS management here in San Antonio are NOT utilizing Clerks to do Clerk Work. They are also hiring RCA’s (Rural Carrier Associates) instead of Clerks to perform Clerk Duties.
